Mostly they hand out pods of the hybrid variety so farmers can do their own nurseries. 50 million seedlings would be approx 120,000 ha of new Cocoa farms this year alone. Where are they?

Cocobod should have a way of assessing such farms and allow the farmers access to cocoa pods. Such farmers are crying and the only alternative is to pick pods from farmers' farm to plant which is not good.

With the hybrids you should not go for "second hand" seeds. The original mother trees are hand pollinated and specially cared for.

You can get these hybrid pods, I assure you, directly from COCOBOD breeding stations. I did and many other small farmers too. Just go early enough and tell them what you need.

I was given 20,000 seedlings across three regions. I was even educated on how they got the hybrid and the drought resistant seedlings. I'm a professional venturing into Cocoa farming.

Its sad that the top officials do not think about the plight and welfare of the cocoa farmerbut thier focus Is selfishly directed to what these greedy officials stand to earn. Lets consider the price discrimination on the price of cocoa between the amount sold on the world market to the chicken-change given to a bag of cocoa. I think these officials should think of the collective interest of the farmer first .
