  Ghanapost have a long way to go. Yes people perceived it as dormant because their services are under utilized. For a start they should take up money transfer bussiness and if they can also do overnight parcel delivery that will be awesome. There are a lot of things that they can segenment to add up to their duties.

  In Nigeria, an over night delivery system can work but not in Ghana due to lack of a stremlined and civilized address system.
  Ghana Post is just bankrupt with ideas period.
  They need to use parliament to lobby for laws to be enacted to favor them. And that is forcing utility companies,banks and telecos to send bills to customers thru them.
  Now that ECG went pre-paid and Ghana water wants to follow same line, other options needed to be explored. But first, an address system is needed to make it easier for Ghana post function without headache.
  In order for Ghana Post to make it as a money making National institution, our MPs have to show patriotism over showmanship to pass bills that can put GP in competitive edge. Parliament has to make sure all Ghanaians can be reached through their home address and NOT P.O.BOX. Then all telecos , banks ,insurance companies have to be forced by law to send bills to customers and that means the current regime of buying phone card units and top ups has to be migrated by law.
  A bill in parliament means MONEY and every bill has to be in a position to make the state money and that's the reason these MPs are elected to do, to pass bills to improve the economy and the people.
  The democracy we're practicing is a showmanship of running elections for the happiness of "donor countries" who milk us dry and we're just loving it.

  I'd rather drive from Accra to Bawku to drop a letter or deliver a package than drop it in the mail. Ghana post lost it's credibility through stealing, particularly foreign mails. My son is yet to receive any of the 20 or so letters, birthday and anniversary cards that I sent to him during his 3 years in SHS. The all bore foreign stamps. Even utility companies wouldn't mail their bills with Ghana Post.

  Absolutely correct. The level of theft is beyond belief. 80%? In most countries theft of mail is a very serious criminal offence. In Ghana it's simply ignored. Ghana Post should (and will, eventually) be placed in a museum, b ...

  Absolutely correct. The level of theft is beyond belief. 80%? In most countries theft of mail is a very serious criminal offence. In Ghana it's simply ignored. Ghana Post should (and will, eventually) be placed in a museum, but anything of the slightest value will be stolen before it gets there.

  It is rather too late now to think about cleaning up the bad reputation of the current Ghana Postal system. Many a letter, a parcel or packaged post from abroad or internally have been lost; known to be intercepted by Postal workers, who open and steal the valuable contents of the post. Ghana Post is now ridiculed amongst Ghanaian diaspora who sturdy-fastly refuse to patronise its usage, continue to view the Ghana postal system as riddled with thieves whose intentions are only to steal from contents of posted packages in order to supplement their under-compensated monthly wages. The only period in time when we saw Ghana Post performed well was during the colonial days - before we became the scoundrels we are today. Not until working conditions in Ghana, and the Postal system is adequately improved postal workers in this country will continue to steal from the post leaving postal system with a bad reputation. But for now the postal service is doomed to fail in every endeavour to revive its dwindling efforts to attract more lost customers to use this once efficient service in Ghana as we used to know.
