Madam IMF the government can not be trusted and therefore you need to reject the argument put up by the minister . Look in their mind it's you versus them they stand to prove you wrong versus improving the Ghana economic, creating jobs for its citizen , providing drinking water to the thirsty. the African mind is a waste of time from the lens of the west . It is about time we stop taking advices and financial aids from those so called world financial rulers such as IMF. We must do and can do it by ourselves. Dependency on them continues draining our pockets and increases the plight of Ghanaians day in and out. How come within 6years period, debt uptick is Ghc 86.5 billion? Why? Our master economists must stand up and say no. Ghana is suffering and blames to no other persons but ourselves. We make up the minds to follow their fake impositions. The leaders must also learn to serve their purposes and not open their mouths to money.

Relative to the global financial crises, Ghanaian Banks were nowhere near the financial derivatives that brought down the economies of the advanced world.

So when you closely review the situation, the fall in commodity prices alone shouldn't be able to make Ghana fall to the ground this hard within such a short period.

Two points that need to be addressed here by the writer.
(1) Is it correct that the Debt level increased from GHC9 billion to GHC94.5 billion or that was an error? Refer the comment "The country’s total debt was about GH¢9 billion when the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) took over power from the previous NPP administration in January 2009 but the amount increased to GH¢94.5 billion as at July 2015."
(2) You gave us the % ratio of the current Debt to GDP under the NDC Administration. What you did not do was to give as the same ratio under the NPP Administration so we can compare apples to apples. The thing is that if the current govt increased the Debt level to purchase assets to produce exportable goods which have not yet increased the GDP level then comparatively, the current govt is doing better. We need to know the ratio under NPP to compare. Thank you.
