Another educated coconut head without common sense. So long as he gets his kick back/bride from the whiteman,he couldn't careless if the virgin lands are destroyed by the white bastard and the land lord becomes a tenant on his God given land.Ghana is blessed with virgin lands,we need to cultivate the land, grow more food to alleviate the hunger in the country and add a value to what the country can export for good money. The world is hungry for good organic food.Think mister C.E.O,many Ghanaians were educated with the sweat of Ghana farmers.Mister C.E.O,-how many people in your village wear jewellery,-gold,silver or copper?Wake up and think, perhaps you can think better if you will swap the white man's suit with your native batakare. You don't sweat in batakare, the intelligent northen politicians in the past always looked graceful and respectful in their batakare. The Kabachawura was one of the great northern leaders. Will somebody tell me what planet this generation of politicians come from.No conscience,no patriotism,no nationalism;they can sell their mothers for peanut, money is only thing they think about. What a shame,Ghana is being governed by a bunch of educated fools without common sense and character.May the good Lord have mercy on us.We don't deserve this,-is it a curse or what?-Nana Egyir Aggrey Snr citizen

Asshole Singapore does not produce any mineral at all but that country is 1000% developed more than Ghana.
God will pay you all one by one and all of you will die a horrible death because of your mind sets.
Do you know the amount of money countries are making on Echo Tourism?
God help Ghana.

The Ghana Chamber of Commerce must stipulate under what conditions it wants those barriers removed. The barriers were put there for very good reasons.
It is not just enough that we ought to attract investors into the Mining Sector by removing the barriers. How about our environment? How about the loss of our Forests? How about the unprecedented compulsion to import Wood now to meet our local demands? How about the continued neglect of the pollution by the Mining Industry that has turned fatal in many instances? How about the need to raise the local content of the processing to maximize wealth retention from the Industry?
So long as the Ghana Chamber of Commerce keep pushing for only what would swell the pockets of its membership, it would continue to experience equal push-back from more patriotic Ghanaians who have a longer well-being of the Nation at heart.
The near collapse of the Ashanti Gold Mines, for example, is not because of lack of investment for its development and maximization of profits but from the lack of adequate equitable management and supervision to make the most out of the resources extracted from it.
Has the chamber really followed honestly how the Ashanti Gold was sold off, and who stood to benefit most from it and at whose expense?
Obviously, matching in pompous stride with those advocates of laisser-faire Capitalist dogma, the Chamber might feel like champions of Free Market principles in Ghana. But over and over again, many a Developing Nation like Ghana has been dealt with the stick and little to no carrot for following that dogma and selling off all their rights to the so-called investors.
If anything at all, we must seek the investors right here at home in Ghana. The sad realistic story is that any such deferring to the local sources for such investments become a threat to all who want to have our doors wide open and unguarded to allow them bring in the sharks of Capitalism who don't care about nothing other than their profits to share their loot with.
It is under such open-door paradigm that our dubious members of the Chamber could arrange to have most of their own share of the booty stashed abroad in safe havens and never re-invested locally to expand our economy.
Whoever our local partners are to the foreign investors whose would be allowed such unbridled freedom to scour the entrails of our land without any commensurate benefits to the owners of the land and the Nation, we would never see any balanced benefits and plan to preserve our environment, or build wealth that our posterity could rely on for survival.
Let the Chamber present an exhaustive guide to attain their goal while preserving all the benefits we would and deserve to gain from such investments so that the Public could fully assess for its decision.
No more behind-the-walls secret negotiations by any arm or agent of the Government to further plunder our resources. Full transparency is imperative or the Chamber must just look elsewhere to promote its goals of luring in investors.
The Article did not necessarily stipulate that the Chamber was seeking foreign investors. But we know the vibes and understand the innuendos.
Let us see the Chamber of Commerce organize to assemble the needed investment mostly from among our locals, and most Ghanaians might join them in that quest.
Long Live Ghana!!!
