  unless a drought most USA states or power companys will start draining lakes before the rainy season or if several days of rain in forecast and rain already the allow the water to pass thru..Beside they are going to generate ...

  why not build another dam???? Lots rivers in USA might have 2 -3 dams on 500 mile long river

  When Burkina was filling the dam, I told everybody that why doesn't Ghana have an agreement with Burkina Faso about the water use and referred to the Nile river agreement. Thank president Kufuor ànd NPP for that small mistak ...

  When Burkina was filling the dam, I told everybody that why doesn't Ghana have an agreement with Burkina Faso about the water use and referred to the Nile river agreement. Thank president Kufuor ànd NPP for that small mistake with big consequences. But that's what no foreign view on local problems. And its becoming worse with more ana more politicians with village backgrounds

  If the downstream country (Ghana) did not do the requisite feasibility studies prior to the damming of the river at Bagre, then we have a big problem on our hands. What were the pre dam hydrological conditions in that part of upper Ghana? It seems we have to create/build waterways that will be able to take all the spilled water and harness same to our advantage. Kwame Nkrumah had the foresight to negotiate with the then upper volta to receive power from Akosombo so they will not dam the river upstream.

  Thanks Prof, I have had occasion to raise this issue on this platform. I am surprised that it has not been made a big issue till now. I hope this time round the relevant government agencies would follow up with Burkina Faso.

  In my last comment on this Bagri dam, I pointed out that CoteDevoire was attempting to build a dam which could potentially block water to Akosombo.There is a need to follow up on all these leads.

  Well said Prof. My beef is that will they listen to you. You see the minister only prayed to be selected and never in a second think or research of what you have said. This problem shouldn't have happened if our leaders understand the ramifications of another country holding lots of water and then only to inform you in a day that they are going to dump the said water to kill your people or crops. Does this make sense.Well, Prof. keep up the good work.
