The concession is supposed to be limited in time, probably no more than 10 years. 150 mil annual profit after restructuring is greatly exaggerated, but even if it kicks in after - say - 3 years, total take away profits will be no more than approx 1 billion.

Investment expected 200 mil/year already amounts to 1 billion after only 5 years, not counting financing cost, initial losses etc. Even the use of a full MCC grant of around 350 mil leaves any investor stranded with something of 0.5 billion in total losses, not counting all the hardships of doing business in Africa's most corrupt country. NO THANK YOU, MR. MAHAMA. THE DEAL IS A SCAM.

ECG's revenue generation capacity does not support the expected $M/B of investments everybody is calling for. Ghana's electricity market is too small to support the size of investment proposed. We have no manufacturing/commercial capacity, nor do we have much residential/home use demand to support the size of investment. Look beyond the obvious and solve the problem of Dum-Sor!

Most of these State owned enterprises are black holes just sucking money out of the public purse, money which can be used to provide infrastructure and strengthen the economy, privatize ECG now!!!
