Justify it and do it promptly else the political pundits. This project will be best accepted if the minister comes back and offers a comprehensive defense else it will not go anywhere and the foreign investor will shy away

My friend the project is signed, sealed and in progress to deliver first oil in 2017 and gas the subsequent year, period. In fact, there is nothing whatsoever wrong with ENI's deal and GNPC that represented the government and Ghana as a whole.
Prior to this deal, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and his bunch of frustrated hoodlums tried their mischievous best to derail the project to no avail. The World Bank stepped in and gave her credential thumbs up to the deal since they acknowledged it as a very lucrative a bargain before Ghana.
This particular deal was the biggest single foreign direct investment in the whole of the Sub-Saharan Africa on the calendar year of 2015 and parliament amicably approved it overwhelmingly to the disdain of the likes of Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.
Another impish move of theirs is to bad-mouth Amerada Hess's consecutive successful exploratory wells in the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points block offshore that are fast becoming the largest find in both oil and gas so far and preparing Ghana for her fourth major oil and gas field by which the government is monitoring their iniquitous moves seriously.
In short, all their brouhaha is a calculative effort to stampede the numerous progress under this government.

ENI is totally capable to do this project. Nobody in Ghana is, so foreign partners are a must. But if every investor has to feed half the government and their families good deals will never be available for the country.

About the Italian economy: while there are problems, this is still the no 5 economy in the world. Where is Ghana to make ridiculous demands with the little expensive offshore oil it has to offer? Calls like that are totally out of perspective.
