  Is it only in corrupt Ghana that people are licensed to smuggle heavy amounts of gold through legitimate channels? Which branch of the security services benefits from such unscrupulous deals? We live in a country where foreign business people are encouraged to steal from our resoources. Is the current government administration too weak to do stop this illegal activity which deprives the state of unpaid due taxes? Where in this world would you see such illegitimate deals with crooks on licence?

  Must be seen as a security asset which must be used to back Ghanas currency the cedi.
  Ghana is a major producer but not one of the top ten holders in the world .
