The question ti ask is why did the first Ghana Airways did not survive when Kenya Air and Ethiopia Air survived? Yes, there is great competition but one should not ignore the competition by consumers for good service, departure and arrival on time, and limited loss of luggage. The arrogance, not of the pilots and hostesses, but of ground workers. I was of traveling age then, and came to prefer KLM because Ghanaian who worked for that foreign airline and with the same skills were properly supervised to provide good customer service. Since I never traveled by Ghana International Airline, I reserve my judgment there.

You have said it, but the fact of the matter is we should be able to handle our own affairs and not be second to another nation. If Kenya air and Ethiopia air can have over five or more planes we should think about floating shares to by more planes and be able to manage them. If not let the Quatarians come in to direct us on accountability without favoritism. No bribery and free travels by officials and families.

Why should the govt. prevent tbe local Airlines from teaming up with other foreign Airlines to operate from Ghana?
Ghana's population is more than 4 times that of Jamaica but Jamaica has not less tha 3 International Airports ...

Ghana's population is more than 4 times that of Jamaica but Jamaica has not less tha 3 International Airports , why can't Ghana take advantage of the PPP method to Build additional International airports in KUMASI and TAMALE? These airports will also serve fliers from the neighboring countries.

This is happening today at our check points. U are obligated to bribe custom officials before u are attended to. Ghanaians have accepted it as normal procedure. We are really funny .

Is one missing something here? Could anyone tell me why Qatar Airways will help set up a national airline for Ghana - when such a move might create a potential competitor for it someday?

Why do the geniuses who rule our country not contact the founder of Easyjet, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, instead - as what Africa needs is a well-run and well-resourced low-cost carrier offering point-to-point flights to capital cities across the continent, and to and from destinations in Europe and north America?

Ghana can leverage its goodwill in Africa to obtain landing rights for such a low-cost carrier, whiles Sir Stelios organises the acquisition of aircraft, and management to run the airline.

Perhaps his Fastjet carrier could be the basis for such a PPP with Ghana?
