It is very true that this action by the Minister will not help cashew farmers in general. He has forgotten that as it is now the exporters bringing in the foreign money, shipping the cashew nuts out and returning with more money to buy more, thereby increasing the volume of money in the country. If he does not ship the nuts out as is being directed the nuts will lose in quality and that will affect the quality hence the price. Again he should be reminded that Ghana is not the only country growing cashew. These traders will re locate to those neighboring countries where prices are cheaper. This administrative Directive must be looked at again as it favours big time traders and processors of farmers and the country as a whole. Thank you.
