  We refuse to pay Nigeria for their supplied gas to fuel our Thermal plants. Instead we borrow millions to rent a power barge from Turkey, and then realise that we don't have fuel for it. Therefore we go and borrow more money to build a coal plant, knowing that we don't have coal, and for party political reasons, the plant must be built where there is no adequate water for the steam needed to drive the turbines. and to solve the created problems, we will borrow more money to build a desalinitation plant to use sea water. And for this purpose, half of the energy produced with the coal plant is needed to run the 'sea water' plant.

  Ghana seems to be the only place where 'Authority' is abused with impunty.
  
  Millions of dollars are supposedly going to be borrowed to build coal plants to allegedly generate 350MW electrical energy. We don't have the coal to fuel the plant, and therefore, after the borrowed money has been wasted, and a structure has been constructed, the very Authorities will explain the need to borrow money to import the coal to fuel the plant.
  Then we are going to be told that the plant requires at least 115MW of the energy to desalinitate sea water to run the plant, and a new tranche of borrowed money is needed to build the required desalinitation plant.
  
  The only thing our AUTHORITIES won't do is LISTEN TO COMMONSENSE, and do something that addresses the problems at stake.

  You have posted two negative write-ups which don't fail to address the strategic requirements of this bold initiative. So much information was provided as to elicit contributions as to the environmental impact of the project but you chose to go on a political tangent to expose your hatred for the Government. Too bad for you, but the good people of Central Region in particular and Ghana as a whole are grateful to the President that is following in the footprints of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

  China will not supply us the coal for free. The cost of the plant needed desalinate sea water to be used here will make you shiver. And the amount of energy required to run that plant is enormous.
  Who told you Kwame Nkrumah would have built the Akosombo Dam at Baka Ano in ape Coast?
  
  Please, sometimes let us consider if it is sensible to spend GHc85 to cook two meals of Fantse dokono and Tilapia
