Which part of the world do you live at,have you ever been to any airport after they dumped you in the country you live in?
That is not a strange practice and it is no news,we have a number of minutes that passengers can stay on airplane,so rain or shine they have to go for others to board the flight.
It is done everywhere including all the major airports in America for what is called commuter planes,most of them don't even provide umbrellas for the passengers,let us be glad that at least the airline provided them with umbrellas which they are not obligated to do,rain is nature which the airline has no control over,the umbrella was just a courtesy given the passengers.
Let us stop displaying our ignorance,we are rather making mockery of ourselves.

The length of tarmac at the Kumasi airport is not long enough to qualify as an international airport. It is still a local airport after spending almost US$25milion for provision lights and rehabilitation of the tarmac.

Come on, guys. This is not unusual. I have walked in the rain and in the snow from aircraft to arrival hall a number of times in winter. This has been at international airports in Milan,Frankfurt, Geneva and Vienna. Whether Kumasi airport has attained international status or not, it is not always the case that there are buses to take passengers from the tarmac to the terminal. Go easy, Mr. Journalist.

no Ghana airport has a tunnel where the arrival plane is parked for passengers to walk through as we see in foreign airports like heathrow and even murtala airport in Nigeria. so what do you expect from the iarline or did the passengers expect to remain on board till the rain stop not forgetting the fact that plane has schedule. even if you arrive at kotoka and is raining ,you will have to walk down to the awaiting shuttle meaning you get a bit wet.
the only solution is the airport have to build gate tunnels to avoid these kind of occurance. I also think under no circumstance does kumasi airport qualify as international airport considering the facilities they have. when plane arrives,someone has to you use a push truck to offload the bags and push it to arrival hall which has a tiny conveyer. The government spent 25M USD in the name of renovating the airport but it was only the termac which was renovated. God have mercy of us a myopic country who cannot look beyond self interest.

Travelling to Ghana international airport is just like park stations in Johannesburg, I can compare to shit Ghanaians describe as an international airport to Melbourne Victoria bus park. Come on guys what we say is enough is still not enough. We get common, water, electricity, roads then we are happy forgetting it's our basic right. Mahama is a damn crook and criminal and Ghanaians must wake up and reason like others. Vote him out and pave way for competent Nana Akkufo Addo to take charge.

And our leaders travel a lot to other African countries and beyond. Don't they see what's happening out there? Every thing is archaic, why? All we have specialised is sika die basa basa. I tell you the refurbishment of KSI Airport (i refuse to recognise it as International) must have cost the nation millions of US dollars (inflated cost as usual) and we can't purchase one or two buses to bus passengers to the aircraft.
