@ GHS3.8 = $1.00, GHS97.2 Billion = $25.6 Billion Ghanaians are being fooled. Explaining Ghana's total debt with current dollar rate. Obviously to post a far lower debt stock in contrast to Bawumia's pronouced figure. Devils.

Who should better know the figures than the Governor of the central bank? But then, the incompetent Wampah is a drowning man and fighting hard to hold on to the last straw. I will be a fool to put my faith in the Opposition who has lost all credibility in my view, and will say anything to win votes.

Our democracy is a complete farce. First of all, we install incompetent individuals in positions of trust - I mean in sensitive positions that have direct impact on our lives. As governor of the central bank, Mr. Wampah's predominant mandate is to use all the available tools granted to him by the constitution to stabilize the cedi. In other words, Mr. Wampah is in charge of our country's monetary policy - how much inflation he should allow in the system not to affect the stability of the cedi by using M1 and M2 tools if necessary. Many central bank governors, including Wampah become advisers to the government in fiscal policy - all with a goal of taming inflation and stabilizing the currency.

Being that Wampah's overriding mandate to tame inflation and stabilize the cedi, he is the person the government looks to for advice. Even though the government's fiscal policy is not his domain, that is for the Ministry of Finance, Wampah must be ready to caution Seth Terkper and the Ministry of Finance if Terkper's fiscal policy tends to undermine Wampah's monetary policy. Amon Nikoi, Ashiabor and others fought the government of the day for their bad fiscal policies.

Wampah has presided over tumultuous period in the life of the cedi. In concert with the man who wants to be vice president, Bawumia, they disastrously pegged the cedi to the dollar in the 2007 redenomination of the cedi, and since then the cedi has never been the same. Despite clandestinely propping up the wobbly cedi by selling millions of our $ reserves, with the intervention of IMF bailout, the cedi has become Africa's worst performing currency under Wampah.

The question now is not when, but how soon he must leave his post.

It's even more shameful to learn that under President Kufor's NPP administration, the NPP administration was paying some of its high-level government executives in dollars. So much for NPP hypocrisy.
