  In order to counter the virtual reckless fiscal policies of governments in Ghana, BOG should be made autonomous by an act of parliament or an amendment of the Constitution, if necessary. This is the only way BOG can check and balance reckless fiscal policy decisions of the government. If Autonomous, BOG could have refused to provide the government with hard currency amount of USD 3 million on the weekend to be sent to Black Stars players in Brazil against foreign exchange regulations.
