  But for heavens sakes do not encourage them to set up their own little businesses, (street hawking syndrome). Industrialize all these agricultural opportunities. Big factories for mass production and processing of these food products. Quality storage facilities are essential. Almost all food products manufactured in Ghana have bugs in them, no telling what is inside the canned foods and bottled drinks. Our culture and attitude towards everything we produce in Ghana is simply diabolic. Our workers are not dedicated and very wicked.

  This is the most important aspect of the whole agric and the extractive production value chain and must be pursued very very vigorously by govt and all stakeholders input as it is the surest route to creating very sustainable employment, wealth n prosperity for ghanaians and subsequently propel the nation into speedy economic development, growth n create the needed stability of in our economic and for our currency the cedi and the economy as a whole.
  i do therefore suggest that govt as matter of urgency and policy direction pass a law that compels and makes it mandatory and for all raw products produce by the country be it agric raw products or extracted minerals to be given AT LEAST 50% value addition or process value before consumption or exports....when this is done it is going to go a very long way to create pools of or an endlessly large volumes of jobs and employment opportunities for the people, narrow down drastically the increasing joblessness of our people and further help to forestalled and arrest the needless post harvest losses and wastage that occurs in the agric value chain and make farming and farmers financially buoyant n relatively secure n attractive business avenue for all...but the caveat however is pls let us this time and for GOD sake cut out the usual and needlessly wasteful and corrupt political interferences...if that is done then this new direction would work..
