The minister of finance must adhere to fiscal discipline and stand up to the executive branch of government. MAHAMA IS AN IDIOT.

It is rather you who do not understand what the president said. There is nowhere in the civilized world that central bankers work closely with the treasury or finance departments.

Monetary policy is a delicate thing to do and the central bankers should demonstrate their independence and should be seen to be independent. The call by the president shows his lack of knowledge and understanding of the issues involved.

But I do not blame him, because his expertise is just in talking. He did not study any subject area in school worth the position he's in now.
