  No wonder, Ghana is still located on the equator. In Nkrumah's Ghana, our journalist were cream of the crop, but fast forward and you'll see ppl who supposed to be smarter than those before them are now rather worst.

  The factory was established decades ago by the late President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the 1980s and was later closed down as a result of inadequate funding and bad policies.

  I do think it's great for ghana to get into sugar production. Why should the people depend on outside suppliers when this is a product that is produce and can be refine here?

  The government is not an entity that should be backing this plan. Governments (NDC or NPP) are not good at running businesses. Why did the plant shut down in the first place? What is being done to prevent the same thing from happening again?

Farmers continue to be poor because they are always been cheated. at the end of the day, they have no choice because they dont have storage facilities. that does not mean we must take undue advantage of them

  If farmers aren't getting good price for their sugarcane, eventually the factory wouldn't get the raw material to feed the plant and the will be the end of yet another factory in Ghana.

  If farmers aren't getting good price for their sugarcane, eventually the factory wouldn't get the raw material to feed the plant and the will be the end of yet another factory in Ghana.
  
  Use commonsense. By paying good price for the input, more people will go into the sugarcane production and with time, supply will outweigh demand and that will drive the price down to benefit the company. Simple economics.
