We dont need to do politics with such issues as it has been all this while. Rangold bid more than Anglogold but for some unknown reason Anglogold won it. Anglogold never fulfiled any of the promises it made. they promised millions of investment in to Obuasi government hospital but it never happened. this issues startde from Jerry time through Kuffour era. Our leaders are selfish and only think about themselves. AGC used to be one othe best minning company in the world not just Africa but now Anglogold has brought it to stand still. for the first time i agree with Ofori Boadi(King Zuba) but we have to be serious and stop doing politics with it. from what i have heard, every minnning company that merges with Anglogold do not survive after few years. and heard that is the strategy of Anglogold that when they see a company as a major competitor, they will try and seek for merger, then they will colapse the company after fe years. i have been a resident of Obuasi for 20 years and i know what I am talking about. why did Sam Jonah resigned as a chief executivefew years after the merger and bought back the bibiani mines.

It is sad when people who cannot manage their domestic finances try to comment on issues far bigger and more complex.

Stop these platitudes and emotional arguments and face the facts. AGC was going to collapse from self-inflected fatal wounds (silly hedges that went against them) and got saved. Please be objective in your analysis and state the facts. Being a resident of Obuasi for over 20 years does not make you privy to the decision-making process at AGC. Ofori Boadi is wrong and he is just exposing his ignorance.

Does this guy know what happened to commodity prices in the last 5 years? Why has the government allowed illegal gold prospecting around Obuasi, and Ghana in general, when lower gold prices and weaker demand continue to hurt AngloGold Ashanti? Didn't they know that jobs were at stake? Why blame President Kuffour for this? This MCE is a joke and does not understand the basics of he is talking about.

Whatever it is, whether Kufuor sold the mine or Rawlings solg that mine, we Ghanaians must buy it back now. Our GALAMSAY brothers have been doing a good job proving to the Western Capitalists who want to own everything in this world that they cannot have that mine. Let our Ghanaian Investors with the help of our government take it back from the greedy capitalists. If we can run the business of growing COCOA and supplying the whole world the best COCOA, we can run all the mines in Obuasi single handed. Afterall Ghana used to do it single-handed before. Get them out of our Gold Mines now!

It is very worrying that if though the facts and records are there for all to see, when it comes to issues of Kufour's NPP diposing off Ghana's companies like Ghana Airways, Ashanti Goldfields and Ghana Telecoms (which bribed each NPP parliamentarian with $5,000- to vote in favour of the deal; and this are facts not just stories). Yet people like lawyer Okudzeto sees nothing wrong and no one says anything. Kufour himseld said corruption has been in existence since the time of Adam. We calling for the head of Prez Mahama but keeps quite on Kufour's NPP sharing government land and buildings among themselves. i find it extremely difficult how we have become so dishonest that we refuse to see what is wrong except in the camp of our oponents and yet what we have done ourselves are mindblowing. Please lets us all be fair and honest to ourselves and our nation. Wrong is wrong and should be condemned wherever its found. Period
