  It is due to the demand of all constituencies that Government is forced to tackle several road projects at the same time all over the country. Not a bad idea if there is enough money to go round. However in a situation of financial constraints the Government in power needs to prioritize road projects and complete those started before new ones. An uncompleted road becomes more expensive to fix because a lot more money would be needed to repair the damage due to rain and erosion.

  I concur with you, and this only emphasize the level of pressure put on government especially during election years amidst all the blackmails. I think the new approach to execute only projects budgeted for is the way to go; however, lack of commitment to loan arrangements for these projects by our development partners is a challenge that is not gonna go away soon. The Ghanaian should also be educated that development is a process which get to everyone gradually and if we push governments beyond limits, the system will crash and we'll suffer for it. Long Live Ghana!

  The way to go is to depoliticize road projects. That is to say no party should lay claim on any road, whether started or completed during their term in office. This can be done by having a national conference on roads to arrive at a consensus on which roads to construct using criteria of economic viability and equity. Once this is done, the program must be followed to the letter by any incoming Government. In this way, there would n need to initiate new roads until the ongoing ones have be completed and the nation is the better for it. Political parties would then stop promising roads during their campaigns, and any party that fails to complete projects agreed upon and started by a different party should be called to explain to the whole nation why. This is the strategy to develop the nation with the little resources we have.

  it appears government is not being truthful about the whole project. its not only eastern corridor roads that is at a halt, all projects that are heavily funded by Brazilian government in Ghana are at a hault due to their country's unstable political tension. it will interest you to know that, the government in their campaign claim they are executing certain major projects making it look as if those projects are solely funded by the Ghana government. ironically, government fail in several attempts to give the total cost of these project. in the article, it is stated that that government has only 18.8% contribution in the E. corridor project. it will interest you to note that, government's contribution is always less than 20% in joint funded projects.
  Ghanaians have been made to understand that all the loans government have recieved from 2012-2016 have been shifted to infrastructural development but this is not realistic. Government needs to account to good Ghanaians in real terms the distribution of these loan facilities acquired by the government on each and every physical project done or in progressssssss. i can't think far..
