READ: "...The Minister of Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah says the passage of the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act 2016 and the development of a number of subsidiary legislation to give better effect to the Act, have contributed to Ghana maintaining its position as a preferred investment destination in the sub-region despite the downturn in the global oil and gas industry..."
WE SAY: Assuming Mr. Mahama did sign the 2016 law, it could not have been effective more than 3 months.
Further, the downturn in oil prices has been on-going at least 2 years.
So, how is Buah able to know the effect of the 2016 bill so soon?
Further, even if that is the case, can Buah vouch to Ghanaians that Ghana is actually receiving its Fair-Share Oil?
We say that Mr. Buah can't attest to that because the 2016 bill is written for corporate vultures who will continue to siphon Ghana's oil revenues into their private pockets and corrupt and ineffective government officials, like you know who.
Greetings!
