  One other thing for those outside Ghana who frequently visit Ghana, is to get a MTN mobile money account and send money to your mobile money account using WorldRemit. Or get someone already visiting Ghana from your area to register a MTN SIM card and mobile money account using a copy of a Ghanaian ID.
  
  worldRemit transaction costs are not too bad.
  
  Since MTN Ghana allows automatic roaming, you are able to check your mobile money accounts in real-time on your phone.
  
  The idea is that from time to time you can create a kind of savings account to sort out emergencies in Ghana, instead of doing MoneyGram/Western Union.
  
  Not a perfect banking solution, but something that could work for some of the Ghanaians outside.
