  The Akwatia Diamond mines which collapsed in 1991 must be revived. The Akyem Gold mining concession must be exploited in a manner which would increase the GDP by a greater factor.

  It has currently been doing 322,000 ounces through surface mining", they are telling us they have been they have been taking 322000 X $1200 = $386,400,000. AND THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL US THEY INVEST $17,000,000 IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT!! (PLUS, MAYBE, ADDITIONAL $50.0 MIL IN WAGES,ROYALTIES, AND TAXES). WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OVER $319,000,000 EVERY YEAR? GHANAI9ANS MUST WAKE UP!! THESE WHITE PEOPLE ARE "STEALING" FROM AHAFO AND GHANA

  On top of the wages, royalties and taxes are the costs of mining and processing. Ahafo's current "all-inclusive" costs are around $1,000 per ounce of gold. With the current gold price just over $1,100 per ounce, there's not much left for "profit", yet Newmont still gives quite a lot to the local communities.
