  If TUC is indeed interested in the welfare of workers they should have by now make sure that workers are employed from the right Employment Centres.What's the use of TUC when anybody can employ whoever at any place without any condition?I'm afraid this is not the best practice in the world.
  I think we need more Employment Centres in the cities and towns so that workers and also the govt can get the precise figures of the registered unemployed people in the country.
  We cannot continue to live in anarchy where everybody does whatever he wants.In a serious society,it's the Workers Unions who propose important reforms,administrative and technical to the govt in the interest of the ordinary workers.Let me give you an example,the whole Accra has only one Labour Office,Kumasi and Takoradi are the same,how serious are we to see that industries are productive?You can't talk about good salaries when you are not productive and you can only become productive if you have been trained to require Professional orientation.Minimum wages is very important otherwise employers will pay workers whatever they want even below the minimum.It's also important to have minimum wages as official salary for ordinary workers.It helps employers to plan their production effectively,human resources and budget.If it's well formalised,nobody will come and work for you a day and demand one year salary as it is in Ghana today.Don't worry be happy.
