What farmers would welcome is a free education in farming and marketing skills. This is what is lacking in the country. Most average farmers use hoes and cutlasses.

I'm talking as a concerned teacher Ghana.We are always talking about improving Agriculture but the subject general agriculture is now not being taught at the J.H.S level.This had lead to the decline of students studying General Agriculture at the S.H.S.Enrollment for Agriculture has reached its lowest ebb and if nothing is done to arouse students interest,by next academic year most schools offering General Agricultural science will ceased to exist.We should go back and include Agricultural science as a subject at the basic level to aroused pupils interest.I think if it is done,basic school students will have the privilege to select as their major when they are admitted in S.H.S.If this is not done,I bet you no amount of rhetorical talks and no one will take the interest in agriculture.G.E.S should sit up please.
