The NPP must think and act differently than what the NDC did by leaving Ghana the huge debt. We must trust the Akufo-Addo's government to do the right thing always for Ghana.

Totally agree with you on this sir.
Does everything has to come from the government? What are insurance companies doing about building and content insurance premiums.

Sorry, Kofi -but insurance should not be covering for losses due to failing to do basic maintenance. What kind of roof is it and how old? When was the roof last inspected? etc? If I were the Insurer such are questions I would ask. As a nation we should learn to do things right and not place the blame or costs for our failures on somebody else.

Priorities and good governance for should mean that we know how to separate apples from oranges. Therefore: 1. We should have the money to pay necessary allowances for nursing and teacher trainees - priority. 2. We should condemn the spending of $13.9 million on a VP mansion as Dr Bawumia (new VP) has done. 3. We should invest in industries at district level and invest to provide water dams where needed ... every reasonable and sensible person should understand what needs doing in each situation and when. What is needed NOW for the the chamber is the fixing of the roof and continuing good maintenance of the asset. Simple abc of good governance and prudent management of the national affairs!! One day when its capacity and suitability are exceeded by the required use, it can become necessary to construct a new chamber, but to do so based on priority at the time.

Please do not even think about building a new chamber. It will be a bad idea and not economically viable. It wouldn't make sense at all. The maintenance culture in our country is zero, that needs to change. When was the last time AESL inspectors and structural engineers inspected the building? If they had done that, somebody would have realize the damages. We need value for money. Mr president there shouldn't be any budgetary allocation for this senseless project.

Please make contributions that would contribute to solving problems and achieving improvements for our motherland. Calling other Ghanaians "these people" and all sarcastic comments do not really help us - at all!!

I agree with the Prof. In the long run we may need a new structure for Parliament. But a new chamber is not our priority now, given the poor state of the budget and the many immediate needs

SUCH AN IRRELEVANT APPEAL BY ONE WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE DEGREES IN LAW AND A FORRMER SO CALLED PROFESSOR AT THE LAW FACULTY,UNIVERSITY OF GHANA, LEGON, CLEARLY INDICATES, WHY THE NATION GHANA CONTINUES TO BE ECONOMIC BACKWARD, UNDERDEVELOPED AND HIGHLY INDEPTED POOR COUNTRY (HIPC) IN THE WORLD.
UNLESS THE PROGRESSIVE AND DEDICATED PRACTICAL PROFESSIONAL MEN AND WOMEN, DO TAKE CHARGE OF THE ADMINISTRATION THE DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA WILL CONTINUE TO DISINTEGRATE.
CRIMINAL POLITICAL THIEVES, ROGUES AND CROOKS ARE STILL AT WORK ONLY TO ENRICH THEMSELVES WITH THE SCANTY FUNDS EARNED FOR THE NATION BY THE ILLITERATE HARDWORKING COCOA FARMERS TO SERVICE THE GREEDY LIFSTYLES OF THEM.
WHAT CAN THE NEWLY THIRTY SIX MINISTERS, ALL WITH BIG ACADEMIC DEGREES AND PHD TITLES AND TO INCLUDE DEPUTY MINISTERS WHI HAVE NOT BEEN NAMED DO FOR GHANA.
WHAT HAVE BEEN THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THESE FOLKS TOWARDS THE ECONOMOC DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
NOTHING BUT NOTHING ONLY TO DRAIN THE RESOURCES OF THE NATION TO ENRICH THEMSELVES.
ARE THE AWARE THAT, THIS IS EXPLOITATION OF THEIR FELLOW CITIZENS AND PLUNDER OF STATE RESOURCES.
