In addition to the shake up , many of the processes MUST be automated to limit human intervention. Limiting human intervention can reduce fraud to a large extent. Secondly, the import duties must be reduced. They are insanely high and unreasonable. If the duties become affordable, importers will have very little reason to connive with the Port workers to dupe the govt. I also suggest all impounded cars be auctioned by a different entity. Ghana Ports should never be allowed to auction impounded vehicles. The auctioneers have vested interest in auctioning of the cars. They ask for import duty of say GHS 30,000 for a car. If the importer is not able to pay, they will turn around and auction the same car for GHS 1000, and then arrange to get those cars bought from themselves or friends. All this nonsense is well know by all and must stop.

If you the elders can't manage the affairs of the nation the we the youth, shall take our nation back. Thievery everywhere and all the government does is complain. Jail all of them including their leader mahama, he is the architect of all the thievery . Nana if you don't handle it we shall organize the you and take the laws into our own hands.

You cannot change what cannot be measured! My opinion is that there is no difference between NPP and NDC in terms of track records.

Borrowing from IMF, loans from China and no impact on the rating of economic landscape! .

Not only that customs officers collude with clearing agents to cheat importers and exporters by submitting refund entries for overpaid duties and pocketing the refunds without the knowledge of the importers and the exporters.They also collude with importers of transit goods to let such goods enter home consumption without duty payment.And what about the borders.The worst are happening at them.Cocoa,cola,petrol,kerosine,processed wood are being illegally exported out of the country through approved entry points with the connivance of customs officers.It is sad.Ghanaians are corrupt and unpatriotic.
