This is a very lucrative industry which is enriching many countries in the world. But it comes with many pitfalls. You can invest a billion dollars like the Chinese did but if you fail to tightly regulate and supervise the pharmaceutical industry it won't be productive.Bad reputation of mishandling of chemicals, fake pharmaceutical products and unsanitary production conditions are almost impossible to correct. If we are going to do this then we must approach it with a very delibrate plan of production and intended market. We could start by producing pain killers and cough syrup for ourselves and markets in Ivory Caost,Togo,Sierra Leone,Liberia,Niaja West Africa. If we are able to produce very good introductory products with clear expiration dates on them then it will give a good reputation to begin with.Failure to start off with a good reputation will automatically sink any effort.

Well written Ghanaba. I love to read articles written by people who obviously know what they are talking about. As you rightly said, the major pitfall will be in how tight the regulations are and how tightly they are controlled. Our Regulatory or competent authorities (Pharmacy Council and FDA)are so corrupt they will approve anything for a backhander !

The NDC is against every development programs and plans laid out by the Akufo-Addo and his NPP govt. Recently, one of their leading members was quoted as saying: "we will make sure that Akufo-Addo's govt fail to succeed at all cost" while supporters of the Notorious Demonic Council (NDC) cheered on. And one would query: is Amaliba a true Ghanaian and patriot? Why should any Ghanaian in his right senses make such a wicked statement against the govt? The time has come for all Ghanaians to rise up and resist the evil advances and intentions of the NDC. They bulldozed into Ghana politics with evil intentions, to destroy every good thing established by NPP and other parties. These kinds of attitudes and ill will won't help us in our democracy and nation building. It's time to disband the NDC permanently from Ghana's politics. They are envious about the progress of others. The new govt intends to create a business friendly environment that will attract local and foreign investors. But the NDC wishes doom and gloom. Get rid of the Sasabonsam party before they totally destroy the nation's dreams.

So don't try to take the credit for it.
