How can Ghanaians stand aside as spectators whilst their strategic assets are being owned by foreign companies? Our airwaves, digital infrastructure, telecom services are just as important as our land. We will never be a prosperous nation if we do not owned our assets.
How can a foreign company have a controlling stake in our resources of which a majority of Ghanaians pump millions into every year only for those profits to not be part of our national revenue pool? It does not make sense and our fri nds in the U.K., Germany, Russia, Usa, china and Japan will never let that happen to them.
Why are they standing by and watch Africa being raped by their companies?
First thing Putin did when he came to power was to renationalise Strategic national assets that were looted by mutiti nationals most of whom were American. That is how putin got Russia back to prosperity.
The world owes Africa a duty by stopping the the exploitation of the African continent by multinationals backed by western governments.
It is in the interest of the world to let Africa owe its assets. No nations have prospered by giving its assets away to multinationals.
Tullow is taking our oil, voadofone our telecoms and soon, the Americans will take over our electricity. We have essentially given away our national assets to foreign countries and pay to use our own resources and allowing multinationals to mop up our liquidity denying us the opportunity to invest it locally. How can the economy ever grow with this unprecedented levels of capital flight? And they claim to be our friends. Multinationals can help Africa without asset stripping it.

I don't know what happened to the lawsuit by the CPP against Vodafone. Voltacom was a subsidiary fiber optics network company of VRA. It was siphoned off and given to Vodafone as part of the GT. package. It should as a matter of national security be owned 100% by the government. CPP sued Vodafone over this issue and I don't know what happened. Probably swept under the rug and let it die naturally through backroom deals.
