North Ghana and coal is viable option. The railway to northern Ghana can carry all the coal fuel to a plant in the north since it is not prudent to locate all generating plants in the south.

This can help turn the north into an agricultural power house.

The average transmission lines upgrades cost over $750million, My point is that for a 400Mw plant to cost under a billion is relatively cheap. And for Ghana to attain full electricity efficiency, we need to invest about $10bn to bring our infrastructure up to standard

A country like ours, should boost investment in energy supply to bring the nation consumption of energy to an acceptable level, if, we are to have a place in global competition. A long term strategic development for energy efficiency and continuous energy supply for future consumption by an over-growing population must be thoroughly analysed and evaluated to reduce an unnecessary reduction on energy consumption across the country.

They know next to nothing, initiate nothing, and claim glory for all projects conceived, designed and worked for by people they insult as incompetent. They cams and met an agricultural program dubbed MAPLE by the NDC which was designed, negotiated for and signed by the NDC before leaving power, and instead of acknowledging the past government, they quickly change the name to Farming for Food and Jobs, claiming unashamedly that they are the initiators of the program. God will surely expose these empty-headed noise-making group of nonentities parading as NPP and their surrogates. "STEALERS"

It may well be the world's largest LPG-fired power plant in the world. There is a difference between LPG which is liquefied petroleum gas and LNG which is liquefied natural gas. They are all hydrocarbons alright but the composition in terms of the molecular weights of the organic compounds mainly found in LPG and LNG are different. LNG being basically methane and ethane and LPG being butane and propane.
So you are in some aspects right. The countries with some of the largest natural gas stations include Russia, Japan and Taiwan. They use natural gas and produce staggering amounts of energy. The Russian natural gas power station Sugrut 2 for example generated about a staggering 40 billion kWh of electricity, as recently as 2013, with an installed capacity of almost 5600MW.
I would have questioned whether it would have been a better economic outcomes over the longer term to seek to construct a LNG power plant as opposed to a liquefied petroleum gas fired power plant and the numbers involved in terms of investment. But generally speaking, it might be the world's largest LPG i.e liquefied petroleum gas fired power plant.
But coming back to the issue of energy sufficiency with regards to efficiency and the sources or mix, what steps are we taking to bring on board newer technologies and green energy systems within the context of climate change and environmental sustainability considering these are ultimately finite resources?
There should be some focus and direction in that regard, as that seems to be the grand pivot over the longer term.
