  Why is that when all the state agencies including GRA know that the industrial sector is in distress and decline they still only focus on this sector to create maximum bottlenecks and for audit after audit to the point where it is just to harass. It is high time the state agencies and GRA looks at this and widens the net and looks at other sectors such as traders and the huge informal traders who have sales in excess of many manufacturing companies.

  The one district, one factory policy looks good on paper. However one wonders whether it takes into account our history of industrialisation, which has had very patchy success to date. Given that we cannot even provide basic infrastructure as energy including electricity, water, roads, transport, what are the chances of success of this policy? It does appear that it is not leading us anywhere too quickly!

  Sankofa other African countries have succeeded in establishing a viable manufacturing base which has resulted in sustainable economic growth. If Mauritius can do it why not Ghana. Every progressive nation globally has made a mark by having an established manufacturing base. This will mean having a sustainable energy policy by tapping into renewable energy which is abundant in Africa.
