An underdeveloped mortgage industry in Ghana was the case when you Dr. Bawumia served as the deputy Governor at BoG and you know that to be the case. It was not a priority for you then because your directive from your puppet-master Kufour was to help defraud Ghana through the currency devaluation scheme or process. And since you cannot multitask, the only valid excuse you can use to cover your failed record at BoG, or did not give a damn about Ghana at the time or since, you did not think housing shortages in Ghana mattered then. After all, you and others got your loot under the Kufour administration so for all the years you went around talking about insignificant things your failure at the BoG was in your rear view.
I know that now that you and Ken Ofori-Atta have been able to stash some money to the side from the US$1.2 billion refinancing scheme you can now sell the revamping of Ghana's mortgage industry. How could I possibly know this? Commn sense should tell us all that Ghana's Banking and financial institutions need available liquidity or cash to give out traditional 15-year and it 30-year mortgage loans to qualified folks. And since interest rates obscene, BoG loans are hard on banks, and credits hard to get by Ghana's working poor civil servants, you and Ken Ofori-Atta can become godfather of the Ghana mortgage industry by investing your new found riches. It's nice to be you, Dr. Bawumia knowing you did not do shit nor leave a worthwhile legacy at BoG but with your new riches along with the power of your office you can convince yourself and your twin Nana Akufo-Addo it's time to cut back on industry regulations so you can invest your collective loot to make more profit like the bandits you all are.

Wow, what surprises me is that, in one breadth he spoke as if it is the first new and best thing for Ghana.
Then he turns around and tells us how new management should learn from the mistakes of the defunct Bank for Housing and Construction. When in fact it is just the same beast under a different name.
Secondly, is Dr Bawumia who worked at the Bank of Ghana since he was a young graduate and curious as he was, was privy to all the secrets of the Bank and currently using it rather in politics, riding on the back of every Ghanaian.
Instead of establishing something of value himself with all the knowledge gained?
Thirdly, in the same vein is the Vice president who came up with 170 questions supplied to him from the Bank of Ghana to the NDC want to tell us that he did not know what caused the failure of the Ghana Bank for Housing and Construction?
And by extension the State Housing Corporation in this market of the mortgage industry? These people should give me a break. The causes if failure is in syllabus WESSCE econ mics paper two.
So it is disingenuous not to mention publicly as a leader of this country not to tell Ghanaians that at least you know it is this and this that went wrong and the new board should guard against all those vices or loopholes for starters.
But created the impression as if it was clean plate and almost a blank cheque or a fresh start to do any thing.
The same way the Agricultural Development Bank could have suffered.
Dr. Bawumia should have set the bar high enough for the new board to live up to. Showing he knows about the weaknesses and challenge them to go beyond those weaknesses in this new dispensation but he reneged so his friends can use the same loopholes to loot Ghana and Ghanaians.

Adb has been running on huge losses during the tenure of the former adb MD. BNI must investigate the source of funding for setting up this bank. The BOG report on the corruption at adb during the former tenure of the MD had not been made public. This could be money laundering of looted state fund to set up a new bank.
