  It is better late than never, however, it is rather curious, these warehouses were abandoned and made to rot in their various locations. It will be expensive to bring some of these facilities to good order. Who own them anyway? Some may belong to cocoa farmers groups or private companies like the UAC, Cadbury's, Leventis and a few others, who traded as cocoa buyers until the nation decided to create a monopoly for the CMB in the early sixties. You can tell from the looks of the pictures that some of the buildings are ancient structures. Some of the buildings are sited near rail lines. But the rail system has long been brought down by our own policies. We have limited farm produce to store currently. Of course, if we make a good effort we will be able to put these rehab facilities to good use. Some can even be used to semi process farm produce for the local markets. For example, bananas, plantains oranges, potatoes, tomatoes can be brought to the markets, stardardized, well packaged and presentable.

  It is good that such old structures are there. Those that can be refurbished will be done. Those belonging to some agencies will be acquired and restored to good condition.

  The fact that attempts are being made to push agriculture forward in the nation building alone is gratifying.
