First, most large ghana-must-go bags are beyond the approved measurements of checked in luggage. Second, they have probably been overstuffed and delays are caused at check in trying to explain to customers that they can't bring the large and/or overweight bag with them. This causes time delay for check-ins which costs money ! Third, they are not as strong as a suitcase, especially when overstuffed. The handles likely have broken so many times and the airlines then have to deal with a disgruntled traveller and pay to get it fixed. Finally, it could be a problem with some baggage systems.
So Please...don't play the race card just because an airlines is banning these bags.

I agrees it gives you more kilos but not safety. they should rather insist on improving on the quality of the bags

What sort of handling will destroy 2 bags in what, "gale-force turbulence"
I sued them and got my money bag.
My claim was a multiple claim not only about the state of the bag.
I got them on the Incorrect/Inadequate Flight info. which my flight got cancelled over; a silly issue which was clearly orchestrated by some faceless persons.
Well, they saw the Scoreboard after that

I have excess baggage, give me a card reader to make payment, they did not have ( it is ONLY in Ghana this will be allowed to happen)...... what ensued is your guess!!

Some time ago my Ghana-must-go bag was stopped by a super friendly KLM employee, explaining me that these bags, especially when wrapped and without any visible handles, turns into a 24 kg "bowling ball" choking the automated luggage handling system. resulting in all passengers, Ghanaians and Europeans alike waiting for a long time to retrieve their luggage.
Nothing to do with discrimination or racism. I as a white Ghanaian rather think that this type of untrue and FAKE journalist is rather a racist by not investigating the true reasons behind this ban!

They said ban it because Louis Vuitton has added value to it as they recently made their own version and there's even a picture of Keke Palmer circulating with the bags online.
