Did our Guinea Fowls that SADA claimed to have flown to Burkina Faso, ostensibly for Vacation, (or was it a seasonal relocation?) come back home?
If not, how is SADA going to account for the expenses we threw into acquiring them? Would SADA send some special emissary to Burkina Faso to look for them? Or, it has already assigned that task to the Ghana Embassy in that Nation? How would the birds be identified? Did SADA attach any name or identity tags on them? And how much more expenditure would we incur in finding them in Burkina Faso? And what if the Burkinabe tell us the Guinea Fowls continued on their flight to Mali? Would we have to send searchers and investigators to Bamako? Life along the Niger River, around Timbuktu, might be more auspicious for the birds to enjoy their extended vacation. Are we ready to put more funds into seeking them out there?
Luckily, the Guinea Fowls don't have to pay for Visas to cross the borders. But I seriously doubt anyone of them would ever see Ghana, again. Voluntary repatriation? Naaa! Doubtful.
So, why are we even bothering to change SADA's name for something else? We may have to change the letterheads on their stationery and other items of correspondence, in the very least, and all those add to the cost of running this corruption-infested outfit. SADA may only change in name but not in substance. I wish the name remained as SADA to remind us of how dubiously it has duped us, and motivate us to keep our eyes on it more closely. The name change may encourage the same people still running it, more or less, hide behind it to re-invest heavily in Ducks or Pelicans, this time, only to be told shortly later that these also flew away to Fernando Po, swimming across the Atlantic Ocean part of the way.
It is strange that none of the culprits in the case of the Guinea Fowls that seem to have 'bought one-way ticket' to Burkina Faso was ever fully dealt with. Are we going to continue to throw money into that sink-hole without proper in-built failure-proof mechanisms and management?
