Police in Tema Region have confirmed to mynewsgh.com that Dogo America, the deceased killed on Tuesday June 13, 2017 in connection with killing of Constable Michael Kporyi of the Ghana Police Service has been on the radar of the police for some time now.
It has also been established that the killing of the Cop was a deliberate act by Dogo America and his gang to avenge the killing of a key member of the group who supplies them with weapons and was a couple of weeks killed in a shoot out with the police.
“He has been on our wanted list for engaging in various criminal activities until Tuesday June 13, 2017 when we trapped him at Washington house during the search for the killers of Constable Michael Kporyi. They have vowed to avenge the death of a colleague who supplied them with weapons for their operations”, the police source revealed.
According the DCOP George Tuffuor Tema Regional Police Commander, his men were on a hunt for an accomplice, who rushed to Dogo America’s residence to seek refuge upon seeing the police.
He revealed that deceased at the time was also servicing two AK47 riffles and hid himself in the ceiling when he was hinted about with their presence with hope of facing off with them, luck however eluded him when he was overpowered and killed in the process.
Meanwhile, the 5 other suspects including his wife will later today June 14, 2017 be arraigned before court on various charges.
Police reveal that the arrest of Dogo America and his gang is one of the major successes chalked by the Tema Regional Police Command as they are noted to be terrorizing residents.
