Ghana loses GHC30 annually through the paddling of salaries popularly known as “ghost names “on the public payroll alone, according to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)

Speaking at the launch of National Anti-Corruption and Transparency week in Accra, CHRAJ boss, Joseph Whittal said corruption has been the major impediment to the development of our country and is responsible for the provision of poor quality services in education, health, Sanitation and Electricity among others.

He added that “Corruption undermines and weakens Democratic institutions and good governance”

According to him, corruption in public services increases the cost of business in governance.
