The suspect, David Ofori, stole the motorbike on November 3 and was arrested by the watchdog committee members on his way home with his booty.

DSP Simon Agbodeka, Teshie Police District Commander, stated that the complainant closed from work on November 2 and parked his motorbike in front of his house and went to bed without locking his doors.

According to him, the suspect went to the victim’s house and peeped through the window.

Realising that the victim was fast asleep, David entered the room, picked the ignition keys of the motorbike and sped away with it.

It was when he was on his way with the motorbike that members of the watchdog committee arrested him based on suspicion and handed him over to the police.

David later confessed in his caution statement that he stole the motorbike from his acquaintance.

When the acquaintance was contacted, his said his motorbike was stolen and the suspect was someone who helped him when he was involved in an accident around Trade Fair, La. David has since been processed and arraigned before court.
