NPP's KOKA reportedly arrested by EOCO

New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist Kweku Osei Korankyi Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has reportedly been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

According to Moses Abor, a former Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, KOKA has been picked up by EOCO.

Speaking in an interview shared on social media on July 14, 2026, Abor claimed that KOKA's whereabouts remain unknown following the alleged arrest.

"What we are gathering right now is that our brother KOKA has been picked up, but we do not know where he is. We have called our lawyer, who is on his way, so he can go inside and find out what is happening," he said.

KOKA was among several NPP executives who had gathered at EOCO's headquarters following the arrest and detention of NPP Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

Miracles Aboagye is under investigation over allegations of the misappropriation, misapplication, diversion, and theft of public funds amounting to GH¢55 million.

In a statement issued on July 13, 2026, EOCO said the investigation and arrest relate to allegations concerning his tenure as the former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).

As of the time of filing this report, EOCO has not officially confirmed KOKA's reported arrest or disclosed his whereabouts.
