The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with a fraudulent bank withdrawal involving more than GH¢20,000 in Kasoa in the Central Region.
According to a statement from the Central East Regional Police Command, the suspects Prince Boadu (26), Emmanuel Adjei Opoku (26), and Eric Owusu (23) were apprehended following intelligence-led investigations.
Police say the case dates back to November 2, 2025, when a complainant reported a suspicious transaction on his bank account. The victim indicated that he had deposited GH¢20,180.00 at a bank in Kasoa on October 16, 2025.
“The Central East Regional Police Command through intelligence led investigations, have arrested three (3) suspects namely, Prince Boadu aged 26, Emannuel Adjei Opoku aged 26 and Eric Owusu aged 23 in connection with a fraudulent withdrawal of an amount of GHC20,180.00 belonging to a customer of a bank in Kasoa, Central Region.
“On 2nd November, 2025, the complainant reported that he had deposited an amount of GHC 20,180.00 into his account at a bank in Kasoa on 16th October, 2025. However, on the 31st October,2025, he noticed that his bank account had been debited of an amount of GHC20,144.06 which he had not authorized.

“He complained to the management of the bank who confirmed that, the funds had been electronically withdrawn by fraudsters. 3. Following a report, Police investigations led to the arrest of suspects; Prince Boadu, Emmanuel Adjei Opoku and Eric Owusu by the Central East Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) on 17th March, 2026 at their hideout in Tema, “part of the statement said.
During the operation, police retrieved several items believed to be linked to the alleged crime. These included assorted mobile phones, multiple SIM cards from networks such as MTN, Airtel, Tigo, and Telecel, as well as laptops, routers, and other computer-related equipment.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
In the statement signed by Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the Central East Region, the command assured the public of its commitment to tackling cybercrime and financial fraud.
“The Command remains resolute in its efforts to arrest and prosecute individuals involved in such criminal activities,” the statement noted.
