Two mobile money agents have been shot dead by suspected armed robbers at Pelungu market in the Upper East region.
Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Issah Anthony, reporting the incident on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm said, the incident occurred today [Friday] afternoon at 12:15 pm.
The two agents he noted have been confirmed dead. Issah Anthony revealed that the robbers numbering about 4 and riding two motorbikes robbed the first Allied Bank, electrical shops before robbing the mobile agents.
He also reported that the alleged robbers are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
Issah Anthony indicated that the robbers shot the agents because they realized they [agents] could have caused their arrest because they knew where the herdsmen rear their cattle.
The police have since moved to the said location where the suspects are said to reside. Meanwhile, the amount the robbers bolted away with is unknown.
