It is because not only Asante people live there. Visit Kumasi, Kumawu, Bekwai, Mampong, and all the District Capitals and see for yourself the conglomeration of tribes and even foreigners that live there. And unfortunately, many of such people have no fixed abodes, jobs, incomes and even no close families and friends. They just commit crimes to survive. The same is true with respect to Accra, Tema, Nkawkaw, and Takoradi.
True Asante people from the region are gainfully employed as traders, Mechanics and Farmers etc. It is those who trip to the region to find work to do to make ends meet that finally become criminals as it happens in Accra and Tema.

Ghanaians voted massively for change of NPP government and brought in Mahama/NDC into government because NPP government was clueless and spent Ghana's funds carelessly and uselessly by unnecessarily borrowing to spend on useless project ie national cathedral, other corrupt create ,loot and share projects however Ghanaians voted massively for Mahama and Ndc to take government only for Mahama to award free scholarships to thousand students from other Ecowas countries to have free education in public universities in Ghana within 7 months in government. 1.Meanwhile we so many Ghanaian students who.have not had university education in Ghana because of financial issues 2.We have so many children in primary schools who lack proper educational infrastructural ie buildings to be used for schools in most towns and villages therefore school under trees ,lack of proper furniture ie chairs and tables in their class rooms if there are class rooms.3.We also have many Ghanaian students on government scholarships abroad who have not received payments and allowances for months and years from government and have been threatened to be invicted from their universities and deported to Ghana .4.Ghana is currently financiallly broke and owes much to international financial institutions and individuals who have invested in bonds and other financial investments which Bank of Ghana have borrowed from public to the government. As a result of all these financial problems existing in Ghana l see no reasons why Mahama/Ndc government overlook all these issues and still award thousand scholarships to other Ecowas members students to come to Ghana universities for free education. GHANAIANS SHOULD SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS ,BECAUSE OUR FORE FATHERS HAVE TOILED ENOUGH FOR THIS COUNTRY AND THEIR CHILDREN PROBLEMS SHOULD BE SOLVED FIRST THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY KIDS.

There are many Ghanaian students abroad who have been given eviction notice for lack of payment of their school fees and rents because the current government have not been able to pay their fees and allowances yet Mahama and NDC see it fit to award 1000 scholarships to other Ecowas members students to school in Ghana universities for free meanwhile many Ghanaian students who have passed to enter universities can't afford admission ,tuition and accommodation for their children. Mahama should focus on Ghana and mind our own problems than other Ecowas members business after all it was Ghanaians who voted for him into power ,and gave a job as president and also pay him from our.taxes we pay to government .
