As for the Rent Control Dept, I advice everyone not to get within 1 mile near them. Apart from the fact that they don't seem to know what they are doing, their corrupt officials take money from difficult tenants and multiply the problems of Landlords by 10. Renting an average decent room in Accra for anything less than GHC1,000 is not worth it because that amount cannot support you for more than a couple of days. Meanwhile you have a schizophrenic tenant who is emboldened by archaic Rent laws that are admimistered by poverty stricken Civil Servants who have never bought a cement block in their lives, hounding you at every turn. Landlords cannot win in the situation in which the country now finds itself so they are accordingly advised to take heed.

I wish ghanaweb thoroughly probe the cause of the fight everyone will realize what I am saying. Some of them even don't work and mainly rely on tenants for their main source of income for their livelihood. They can demand money from tenants at any time they need money irrespective of the time the tenant pays his tent advance.

You sound a bit like the crazy tenant who killed her landlady. Look at you saying that landlords who give shelter to tenants are troublesome. If you are a tenant and you don't like the rental or living conditions of any landlord/lady, just simply move out and go and build your own house if you think it's that easy. At the very least such tenants too should go and live in their father's houses - that is if their fathers are the co-equal of their landlords. After all no one forces any tenant to live where they are not comfortable.
