Almost everybody, including Religious leaders, Senior Politicians, Police and Military Personnel, many Professionals, and Opinion Leaders are involved. Yes, our Prominent Traditional Paramount Chiefs like the Asantehene, Kyebi Abuakwa and others are in one way or the other are involved. Some people attack me on this forum when I mention the names of Chiefs like the Asantehene in this but I know that I am right.
The Chiefs in Asanteman and Akyem Abuakwa pay royalties to the Asantehene and Akyem Abuakwa Paramountcies in the form of Golden Dust and trinkets yearly. How do such Subchiefs get the Minerals to pay for the Royalties annually? Is it not through Galamsay? And are these Paramountcies not farming out sites for the Galamsayers to continue to endanger our environment? How can these Paramountcies Chiefs control the Galamsay in their areas when such Mining places have been farmed out?
It is also unfortunate about the high rate of unemployment in the country and how every Ghanaian wants to be rich overnight. I am sorry for this very Galamsay situation in Ghana. We are digging our own graves. I just cry for Ghana my beloved country.
