Dispute over woman turns deadly as man is killed in violent confrontation

A 36-year-old man, Kwabena Anokye, has met his untimely death following a violent confrontation over a woman at Offinso Agyimpra in the Ashanti Region, citinewsroom.com reports.

According to the report, Anokye was killed in the early hours of Friday, May 1, 2026, leaving the community in shock and drawing police attention as investigations continue.

Akwasi Anyom allegedly attacked the deceased after a heated dispute involving a woman identified as Adwubi.

The report further stated that Anokye previously had a child with Adwubi, but she later left him to be with Anyom.

Unhappy with the situation, Anokye reportedly stormed Anyom’s residence around midnight, entered his room through a window and demanded that Adwubi return to him.

The situation quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

Adwubi is said to have fled the scene, leaving the two men engaged in a fight that resulted in Anokye’s death.

Anyom, however, is reported to have sustained machete wounds during the altercation and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged and is assisting police with investigations.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue, while police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
