The Agona Swedru District Police Command has arrested six men for allegedly posing as national security operatives after they invaded SI Jun Manufacturing Company Limited at Agona Akwakwa near Mankrong Nkwanta in the Central Region.
According to a police statement issued on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the incident took place on May 6, 2026, around 12:00 pm.
This occurred after a distress call reported that the suspects had stormed the facility in a Toyota Land Cruiser with the registration number GW 8887-V.
The police indicated that the suspects were dressed in various uniforms, with three wearing camouflage from the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), one in military attire, and two in plain clothes.
They allegedly claimed to be operatives of the National Security and proceeded to assault and harass several Chinese nationals on the company’s premises.
Upon receiving the report, a police team was dispatched to the scene.
When they arrived, they found the vehicle parked at the location with three Chinese nationals, identified as Man Guan, Chin Min, and Ma Kaixiang handcuffed.
“The suspects claimed to be National Security Operatives and were allegedly assaulting and harassing some Chinese nationals at the company,” the statement indicated.
The six suspects were identified as Agyemang Benjamin, 32 years; Mahama Iddrisu Dawuda Seidu, 48 years; Ofori Isaac, 35 years; Adom Bills, 32 years; Hayford Boafo, 47 years; and Ato Mchenry, 48 years.
They were arrested on the spot and are currently in police custody at the Agona Swedru District Police Headquarters, assisting with investigations.
“The Military Police and the Immigration Command have been contacted, along with National Security, to help ascertain the identities of the suspects,” the statement added.
