A pastor standing trial for allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive at Abofrem in the Atwima Mponua District has been granted bail by the Sefwi Wiawso High Court.

reported on May 12, 2026.
Counsel for the accused, Francis Kyei Badu, said, “The Bibiani District Court had earlier stated it lacked jurisdiction to grant bail.”
“A bail application was then filed at the High Court.”
The court granted bail to Frimpong, the first accused, and Emmanuel Appiah, the third accused, in the sum of GH¢500,000 each with two justified sureties.
The court also directed the prosecution to file and serve all disclosures, including witness statements and other evidential materials, to support the trial.
