The criteria for distinguishing between genuine pastors and charlatans is not too difficult. Apart from sensing in your spirit that you may be dealing a fake prophet/pastor, you must always go to the Bible for guidelines. Look at the teachings and practices of Jesus and the early disciples, as described in the Bible. Any departure from the teachings and practices of Jesus Christ and the early disciples in the Bible is a clear signal of charlatans.

For instance, there are those who never preach the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ. They only offer solutions to all kinds of earthly problems - financial, visa, marital, employment, spiritual etc problems, which only get solved (by God)through them. Every day, it's Nyankopɔn bɛfa me so asa wo yareɛ, etc. It's like God cannot do anything without passing through them.

What are we going to do to such a human being? This is a deliberate act, somebody with a sound mind, planned and executed such a barbaric act. That's why the removal of the death penalty is flawed. It's untenable in a society like ours where brute criminals and barbaric human beings dare society. Justice is an indispensable tool that shapes society. Lack of appropriate justice to engineer society breeds rot and a canker. Besides, the innocent victim is denied justice by the inaction of the larger society when appropriate measures are discarded. What is the society doing to exact the appropriate punishment to avenge the cry and pain of the innocent victim of such heinous crime. The victim might be dead and gone, it is the responsibility of the living to take action to protect his/her dignity and ensure that justice is served on his/her behalf. The death penalty exists not to find someone to execute. It exists to execute those who have brought themselves to carry its hammer. It exists as a deterrence to barbarism and to scare dangerous human beings. We must be wise. Our society is not ready to eliminate the death penalty. That is my take!!
