The family of Christopher Ahordor, a mobile money vendor who was allegedly murdered during a robbery attack at Aflao, has called for a full-scale investigation into the escape of a key suspect from police custody.

Addressing the media on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Edem Viglo Mensah, spokesperson for the family, expressed outrage over the escape of a suspect from the Adaklu Area 51 Police Station and demanded accountability from the Ghana Police Service.

“We are also asking the police to launch a disciplinary inquiry against all officers responsible for the breach in custodial security,” he stated.

The family further urged authorities to review the conduct of officers involved in the case, particularly regarding the alleged failure to present the suspect before a court within the constitutionally mandated 48-hour period after his arrest.

They also called for the immediate recapture of the suspect and measures to ensure his continuous safe custody pending court proceedings.

“Ensure the immediate recapture of the escaped suspect and guarantee continuous safe custody pending court proceedings,” he stated.

In addition, the family demanded that the police provide a detailed public report explaining how the suspect escaped and outline steps being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“We expect the police to ensure that all suspects are presented before court without undue delay and that justice is served for the victim, Christopher Ahordor, also known as Colombo,” the spokesperson added.

The family reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and called on authorities to uphold criminal procedure laws and internationally accepted standards in criminal investigations.

Christopher Ahordor was allegedly shot and killed by unidentified armed robbers on the evening of Monday, April 28, 2026.
