No matter what the issue is, a private citizen must not try to wrestle a service gun from any law enforcement officer in Ghana. That action, by a citizen, is in itself a crime. What if the citizen succeeded in getting the weapon and shoot the police officer? The right recourse is for the citizen to back-off and after 'things' have been resolved lodge a complaint at the police station regarding the officers behavior (assuming no death occurred).
The Ghana Police bosses MUST educate Ghanaian citizens that you do not have the RIGHT or ATTEMPT to wrestle a lawfully issues service weapon from a police officer...PERIOD.
The issue must be investigated as it is now, but I hope the affected police officer or the Ghana police file assault charges against the people who were trying to take his weapon from him for endangering the public and causing injury to innocent by-standers.

Its not worth it. If he kills you and goes to jail...you are dead with a foolish, avoidable death. Get evidence against him. I have encountered this rogue policeman at the Madina police station before and he was very rude. I even reported his behavior towards me to the police service through one of the police social media handles. I went to the station to report some people who defrauded me at Zongo junction but this man who was at the counter at the time was very slow attending to us. Though we were about five people in the queue to be attended to for about 30 minutes no one on the queue was attended to so I approached him calmly on why the queue was not moving and he could not be bothered. He even spoke shit to me. In the end, I left the station without being able to make my report. I am happy he now finds himself in this situation. May God save the lives of the wounded women.
