We have lost sight that our youth are going through a difficult process. Most are not trained, and those who might be trained are jobless.
Lack of opportunities has affected up to 40% of our youths but private or public entity seems to care.
Most of the youths lack vocational training and those who completed college have educational mismatch that creates employment gap.
Economic growth concentrates in a few hands and has not translated to provide jobs for the youth.
So the youths engage in anything that gives them daily bread, it doesn't matter if it's legal or illegal.
As politicians get their booties, these young ones have no one to look up to. They are at the mercy of the police and hails.
They never expected to be in a world so corrupted that there is no place for them.

While other countries are profiting from cannabis, we in Ghana continue to imprison innocent people simply for smoking it. When the tobacco industry wanted to sell cigarettes, they labeled Indian hemp as illegal, despite the fact that cigarettes are far more harmful. Now, many European countries and some states in America are legalizing cannabis, yet here in Ghana, we continue to make the foolish decision to arrest people for smoking a joint.
